Who Are We?

Did you know me when I was he? Did you know me when I was she? Which lifetime was that?

What is the real us? Is our real person our soul that always prompts us to do what is right and good or are we our reactionary brains that cause us to be an unthoughtful species prone to violence?

Do you believe that it matters what sex your body is when your soul has no sex?

Most of problems in this world are caused by people who are don’t know who they are yet. Kids growing up in school don’t know who they are yet and aren’t they the most unmerciful at teasing and bullying others? Why do they act in such a way? One answer–they don’t know who they are and are afraid of anyone who is unafraid to be themselves.

My Good Habits Diet

I just got done eating a bowel of boiled lentils dressed with toasted sesame oil and tossed with my homemade kimchi. I wonder how many of my readers have ever eaten kimchi? It basically fermented cabbage, exactly what sauerkraut is, but not heat processed so the fermentation makes it full of wonderful probiotics which are good for your digestive system and make you a healthier person!

I eat a lot of cabbage because it is part of my anti-inflammatory diet. Why do I eat something called an anti-inflammatory diet? As modern humans many of us on the planet eat a very unnatural diet filled with dead things, filled with chemicals, and devoid of nutrients. For many years of my life I ate a lot of things that weren’t so good for me because I ate what the culture I grew up in offered. I won’t go into details on how everything on the basic American dinner plate is cooked and dead. I was just eating many foods that caused inflammation in the body which any doctor will tell you creates the basis for most all disease we suffer from.

From eating an inflammatory diet I developed arthritis that I first noticed in my shoulders when I was 45 years old. At first I just said to myself, “Oh, I’m getting old now and there is nothing I can do about it”. In the next 10 years I changed my mind about that and began eating an anti-inflammatory diet.

To make things super easy for me the base of my diet is cruciferous vegetables. For me, my favorites are cabbage and cauliflower. I will always cook those veggies with a lot of water because I later drink it as an anti-inflammatory beverage. My everyday go to drink is cold brewed green tea which is partially fermented naturally due to just throwing the tea bags in the same brewing container that has the live probiotics from the last batch. I sweeten my tea with stevia which is organic and 100% pure, no additives. Each time I pour a glass I add a little of my liquid vitamin/mineral supplement that I’ve been taking for the past 15 years. It’s adds a natural fruit flavor similar to apple cider to my green tea.

It’s not my purpose in this post to give a full disclosure of my good habits diet, but in closing I’ll also say I say away from gluten. That means staying away from from all wheat and oat products. I’m not gluten-intolerant the way some people are, but gluten turns to sugar and sugar is the #1 inflammatory basically guaranteeing you will develop arthritis. Thankfully, there are many gluten-free flours in the marketplace now which I can make easy crispy bread sticks, muffins, gravies, etc.

Combat those fibrins that develop in response to inflammation that cause arthritis with an anti-inflammatory diet!

Our War Veteran’s

You don’t go to war and leave the war. You go to war. It’s just the battle field has changed. When you come home there are other wars and plenty of other battles to fight for those experiencing PTSD.

I know what PTSD is like because I used to have it really bad after a traumatizing event I experienced in my life. It took five years to work a lot of it out, but those internal wounds are still there. It’s sort of what they say about alcoholics, “once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic”.

I watched a 2015 documentary, Searching for Home: Coming Back From War. I really felt for those people in the documentary because even though I’d never gone to war I’d suffered a battle in my life that resulted in PTSD.

Do what you can for our under appreciated war veterans.

Are you a veteran and need to talk to someone who know what you are going through? Talk now, veteran to veteran 1-877-927-8387.

Why Gluten Free??? WTF?

Did you know that eating bread made of wheat flour gives you arthritis?

When I was diagnosed with arthritis my Western medicine programming was telling me that arthritis was just something you get when you become older and there is nothing you can do, but take anti-inflammatory medications to temporarily aleve the pain. In the United States there is even an anti-inflammatory medication by the name of Aleve.

One day I was watching a tv show where people told their stories of survival from major illness. This one woman had another cancerous dark spot appear on her shoulder that she had removed surgically. When another one appeared she once again began enduring the long wait to have it removed. She was a war veteran and had to wait on the Veterans Administration to take care of it. One day while at a farmers market she came across a booth where a man was selling healing juices. He could see the cancer on her arm and told her to drink 3 ounces of fresh ginger juice 3 times a day. The story amazed me and inspired me to look up the healing properties of ginger juice. It was then I found it was a terrific anti-inflammatory.

I picked up a juicer and began juicing ginger and drinking 3 ounces 3 times a day. I found out quickly how regular juicers are not match for ginger. After purchasing the next strongest line of defense I eventually understood I needed a big $250 powerful juicer. Drinking the ginger juice was rough. It burns your throat so I’d mix it with pineapple juice, another anti-inflammatory juice. After about a year I became brave enough to switch live juice to Turmeric (Curcumin) capsules. More research lead to more discoveries about arthritis.

A few years later and now I know I also need to stay away from all foods made with wheat flour aka gluten. I used to think the gluten-free stuff was just for people with weak digestive systems. Now I know that the gluten in wheat flour causes arthritis.

Make the change while you are young. Swear off gluten except for the occasional small treat. No more breads, or pasta’s made with gluten flour. The switch is on. The public is catching onto the evils of gluten and you can see stores and restaurants more and more offering gluten free flour products. One day you will specifically have to ask for gluten bread at restaurants instead of having to ask for gluten-free.

Are You Afraid of Change?

Being afraid of change is a natural psychological reaction in most people. It takes time, experiences, and education for most people to embrace change without fear. For some people their faith in a Higher Power helps them to combat fear.

For every step forward there is usually a half step back. Every step, two steps you take you step back out of fear. The fear is the fear of change, of transformation, the fear of what we think is our identity even though it’s not. It’s a provisional identity. These are sometimes explained as phase transitions and they can be scary. When water becomes steam, that is a phase transition. This change does not happen gently however. The water boils violently before that gentle steam floats on the air. Also, don’t forget that the steam can burn you till it’s had time to cool.

Everything in existence is always changing so why is it so hard for humanity to embrace change? Let me get right down to it. Why is it hard for humanity to embrace people who attempt to change their sex/gender presentation? People have been taught to fear and hate that which they cannot understand. This is a recycling of collective thoughts and behavior which is quite symptomatic of tribalism. When did tribalism ever do any good for humankind?

I was born with an intersexed chromosome pattern of XY/XO that I was not made aware of till I was 40 years old. I had a chromosome test done then because my general practitioner physician had suggested I have one done just so he could get a baseline in my file to support my claims of being transsexual. My physician had only known me as female during the 10 years he was my doctor who prescribed me female hormone replacement for which reason I had told him was that I’d had a hysterectomy at age 19 due to my mother having taken a hormone known as DES during her pregnancy with me. That was a lie, but it hid my transsexual secret till I came to the time in my life when I needed to transition to living as male.

So, here we are today in the year 2020 and I’ve experienced living the last 15 years of my life as male, after living the previous 20 years of my life as female. I now live in a state beyond gender as I realize the soul has no gender or sex like our bodies do. This is where I will lose a lot of you as readers of this article because there are many that do not believe that there is any essence of who we are that survives the grave. Call that essence a soul or whatever you want to call it. I call it a soul because that is a concept that most people are familiar with.

Beyond gender. Religious literature says that God is the embodiment of the attributes of both the male and female sexes. Religious literature also says we were made in the image of God(s). If we all are honest and can put the programing we received through our upbringings on hold for just a minute and think about what it is beyond our psychological, hormonal, or physical bodies that gives us a sense of sex/gender.

The ancient philosophical and religious writings of this world all tell us that we transmigrate sex/gender through many reincarnations we experience. Some say this is how many gender challenged people develop. Can you imagine if you lived your past life as a female and then your next life you find yourself in a male body, but feel like being male is foreign and females are the familiar. Even Jesus, in the Christian Bible spoke about reincarnation although Christianity doesn’t want to address it other than to say, “Reincarnation? That’s of the Devil and we don’t teach that in our church”. How can they say that if Jesus embraced reincarnation as foundational to Judaism?

In the end, does it matter if one lives their life as male or female? Perhaps someone has some karmas to work out while living their life as something other that the rigid binary sex of male or female that they were born into? If someone is living their life as a good, respectable person with love, kindness, and compassion for others then why would anyone want to persecute them for their gender expression?

There are a lot of people being harmed by transexuality. It’s not the right path for many and now people numbering in the many thousands are rising up all over the world to express their anger at feeling that like they were lead down a primrose path to making irreversible changes to their bodies as a cure for the psychological issues relating to their gender discomfort.

I am a special case on this planet. I have lived as male and female and can live outwardly as both comfortably as presenting as male or female really does not change who I am on the inside. It’s taken decades of personal work to accomplish this mending and transcending of gender. I wish my friend Tom Murray was still living so we could do another update to the documentary he did about my life called, Almost Myself.
